White washing should be banned, dont try to speak to a Filipino with too much English, you'll make them loose their lingual identity, immigrants from the Philippines have been white washed so much that when they come back, they make us loose our national language, try to use a purer version of Tagalog and less English because if you do that, trust me you're gonna save the language

This was great! I also forgot to speak tagalog a little while after moving to the US, so when I was 15, I decided to relearn it on my own. I listened to tagalog songs and watched tagalog movies all the time and whenever I spoke to someone, I only spoke in tagalog -- no matter how broken my tagalog was. Now, I can speak tagalog without an accent and can easily switch back and forth between english and tagalog without missing a beat. I hope you continue in your journey! Goodluck and mabuhay!
